SYDNEY — Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has narrowly avoided injury after a homeless man allegedly mistook his chin for the Christmas turkey while the PM was serving lunch to disadvantaged Australians.
The incident occurred during a Christmas charity event where Albanese, armed with tongs and a camera-ready smile, vowed he’d serve “as long as there’s no matzo ball soup.”
Witnesses say the man who attempted to bite Albo later admitted he’d “had a little crack” earlier in the day and genuinely believed his chin was the centrepiece.
Security intervened before any carving took place, allowing Albanese to continue handing out meals and photo opportunities unscathed.
Also in attendance was Anika Wells, who sources confirm was enjoying a free feed while keeping the Commonwealth Santa sled fully funded and on schedule.
The Prime Minister later described the day as “what Australia’s all about,” before adding that his chin would be spending the rest of Christmas under close protection.
