Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has apologised in parliament for historical immigration policies — while overseeing record-breaking arrivals today.
“We must say sorry for the past,” Allan said, patting herself on the back as modern immigration surged. “Honouring history doesn’t mean slowing down the present.”
Indigenous communities received the apology, while other Victorians were left to marvel at the scale of today’s arrivals from their street swags.
Cultural celebrations with Baker Boy, Briggs, Missy Higgins, and Yothu Yindi are planned, keeping everyone distracted while immigration continues to hit historic highs.
