CANBERRA — Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has reportedly admitted he may have missed a golden opportunity after branding Angus Taylor “Temu Abbott” in Question Time.

While the jab drew laughs, Australians were quick to point out that “Aldi Abbott” was sitting right there.

“The alliteration, the Australian brand recognition, the simplicity,” sighed one Labor staffer. “It’s like watching someone miss an open goal.”

Sources say Albanese outsourced the nickname to writers from the Betoota Advocate, a decision critics say would have worked better several years ago.

“Back when they were funny, maybe,” said one observer. “These days they’re basically the Poopshoota Advocate.”

At press time, the Prime Minister was reportedly lying awake at 2am whispering the words “Aldi Abbott” into the darkness.
