Melbourne— A student who made the extraordinary decision to attend class instead of joining Thursday’s anti-Pauline Hanson protest has reportedly been flagged for showing an “unhealthy interest” in history, finance and the achievements of previous generations.
Thousands of students walked out to protest Hanson and One Nation, with High School Anti-Capitalists among the organisers. Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi even encouraged students to skip class and join the action.
Curiously, there appeared to be rather fewer history and finance majors in the crowd.
Instead, students were encouraged to tear down the capitalist system their parents and grandparents spent decades building.
One small group of Asian students, however, said they had a slightly different view.
“I know finance and history,” said one far right Asian student “And Hanson reminds me of Mum but redder.”
Meanwhile, authorities have warned that students who continue attending class, studying economics and asking inconvenient questions may require immediate political re-education.
