Federal Liberal MP Andrew Hastie has reportedly been spotted handing out Labor how-to-vote cards at the Secret Harbour by-election, in a bold new strategy to stop One Nation.
Hastie has warned that One Nation’s rise threatens the Liberals, particularly in his neighbouring federal seat of Canning.
“Obviously we’d prefer to win,” Hastie reportedly told voters. “But if Labor has to win to stop One Nation, sacrifices must be made.”
Political observers say Hastie could soon surpass his old mate Malcolm Turnbull as the Liberals’ most effective Labor stooge.
Labor has reportedly thanked Hastie for his service.
