CANBERRA — Labor has moved quickly to calm supporters after a new poll showed Pauline Hanson overtaking Anthony Albanese as preferred prime minister.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong said the result was “disappointing,” but insisted the PM was still performing strongly with key Labor demographics, including ABC panellists, university encampments and Hamas supporters.
The PM also denied claims he shat himself during a mosque visit after being yelled at by attendees.
“That wasn’t fear,” a Labor insider said. “That was just the post-Ramadan biryani kicking in.”
