SYDNEY — The ABC has announced Roxanne Tickle as host of its new podcast about women, Female AF, after executives reportedly concluded she was the ideal person to lead discussions on modern womanhood.
ABC insiders say Tickle emerged as the clear frontrunner after scoring exceptionally highly across the broadcaster’s Diversity Excellence Matrix, causing several spreadsheet cells to burst into flames.
The new podcast follows criticism of the ABC’s series Autism AF with Grace Tame, with some viewers calling for the broadcaster to be defunded after accusing it of political bias.
Tickle says Female AF will tackle the big issues facing Australian women today, while the first guest is set to be Energy Minister Chris Bowen after producers allegedly discovered his testosterone levels place him somewhere between a teenage girl and an inner-city Greens voter.
ABC Chair Kim Williams welcomed the appointment, saying the national broadcaster remains committed to “amplifying diverse voices, particularly the ones already on the ABC.”
At press time, producers were reportedly lining up future episodes featuring ISIS brides, climate activists, and anyone capable of describing Australia as a fascist dystopia before the first ad break.
